R.I.P. The OC (2003-2007)

FOX announced last week that season 4 of The O.C. (which is currently airing in the US) will be its last.
The series will wrap its 4-year run in February 22, when the 16th episode of season 4 airs.

This decision made its (many) fans roar with outrage and sadness.
I'm one of them, but the move wasn't that unexpected. The ratings have been decreasing since season 2 (struggling against the giants CSI and Grey's Anatomy at the same timeslot is no easy task), the last season was way inferior conceptually to its previous ones. Despite that, the soundtrack has become a trademark and it keeps just getting better.

Season 4 is apparently back to The OC's heyday, but even that wasn't enough to keep it alive. At least we have the privilege to see it end on top!

One thing is for sure: Seth Cohen will always remain in my alltime best TV characters Hall of Fame.
